I bought a 70ns 16 MB 72-pin SIMM. I installed it, but I'm getting random
errors in the form of segmentation violations (signal 11). It _may_ mean
that this memory is too slow and is causing problems. In any case, it may
well be that I cannot use this memory because of this.
I bought this memory for $87. If I find that I cannot use it, do you want it?
Also, my memory configuration on my mother board was not like I said. Here's
what it looks like:
2 72-pin slots
4 30-pin (?) slots
One of these 72-pin slots has a 30-pin-to-72-pin converter with 4 30-pin SIMMs
it it (1M/SIMM, 4M total). The 4 30-pin slots are all full -- 1M each, 4M
total. So, with this 72-pin 16MB SIMM, it brings me to 24MB. Unfortunately,
as I said, I may have to settle with 8MB and buy some other memory.
Also, my computer is 100Mhz. That may (or may not) be why the memory isn't
working.
