Then rub all those pieces off with a dry cotton swab. Actually, I pulled the tape deck apart and it is/was completely bogus -- there are pieces missing and the mechanism is completely screwed up. There's no way it's going to ever play tapes again. Also, the cotton swabs you sent me came in pieces; obviously, the USPS processing machines didn't like it very much.
