Here is some info about non-profit fund-raising. I guess it's not that useful, but it's something... --- Forwarded mail from http://www.aol.com/~Coco30 From: http://www.aol.com/~Coco30 Date: Thu, 27 Feb 1997 18:46:39 -0500 (EST) Message-ID: <970227184529_685470688@emout13.mail.aol.com> To: http://dummy.us.eu.org/robert Hey Robert, My focus has always been the environment thus I am really only familiar with foundations/corporations which support environmental projects and programs. However, I do have a few general suggestions which may help: *The Council on Foundations 202-466-6512 or http://www.cof.org *Guide to Ca Foundations - Published by Northern Ca Grantmakers in San Francisco. *Ca Association of Nonprofits 8189-446-7303 *Ca Community Foundation Funding Information Center 213-413-4042 I would also approach any corporations which have corporate giving programs. Close to 90% of all businesses must give donations throughout the year for tax purposes. Many computer-related companies in your area would probably prefer to give to something directly related to their field. Be sure to offer visibility options such as printing names on invitations, signage at the event, an invitation for one of their representatives to address the group, etc. Check into the community foundations in your area. Also, clubs such as rotary, elks, veterans - they all have budgets for sponsoring events. Also, check the newspapers (weekend section) to see what events are happening and who's sponsoring them. You may find a company that would be willing to get involved with your group as well. That's about all I can recommend for now, cousin. I'm getting ready to head out the door for a meeting. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know. Cory --- End of forwarded message from http://www.aol.com/~Coco30
