You need to say "taper -T f" for the ftape device. Also, be sure to do this
from the root dir (/).

Pretty well! I got the SPARCstation to talk with it; now, in theory, I can
download my personal mail and Usenet articles and read it in bed or waiting
in line. My big problem is the memory. I need much more. I'll be calling
around today. I got a HP1000CX which is like an HP200LX but without the
graphical interface.
> How much did it cost?
I got it for $284. My Usenet reader (trn) had been sniffing for the keyword
"HP1000CX" and it finally came through and I got a great deal! (These things
normally run $400.) You might wanna do this yourself using www.inreference.com.
Set up an account there and you can make "active queries" which will notify
(via e-mail) you when a subject comes up that interests you. I'm planning on
using "suck" to filter my Usenet messages instead of using www.inreference.com
(it's a little slow for my tastes).
> Have you changed the coil and distributor cap in your car?
No, I haven't got around to it. Perhaps this weekend. The trickiest thing is
searching for the coil. I hope it won't be too hard to track down.
