As you can see from the 4 articles I sent you, it is likely that there's going to be war with Iraq. Anyone who joins the army within the next couple of months with a war in Iraq imminent, they will definitely be sent to Iraq. And who knows how a VA hospital will treat them, particularly if there is long-term damage due to use of chemical or biological weapons. It seems that your staying in the army is the lesser of two evils -- if Tim joins, there could be a potentially worse outcome. It's unlikely that you'd be sent to Iraq, whereas Tim, being as healthy as he is, despite his age, would likely be sent. There are also benefits to living in Germany -- Nicholas and Alexander are learning a second language which can be quite valuable. You're also guaranteed an income; it may take a while for Tim to reach the same pay scale as you currently. As you know, I'm currently jobless. And, with the economy in its current state, it'll probably be a while before jobs will become plentiful again. If Tim joined the army, he would be "stuck" there for a while due to the job market. I think this could potentially be a terrible idea.
