Subject: [Switch to NaturallySpeaking] opens Windows Explorer instead
of launching NaturallySpeaking
Product: DragonDictate for Windows
Version: 3.0
Description:
When using the [Switch to NaturallySpeaking] command, which is
recognized correctly, DragonDictate's microphone is turned off, but
instead of launching NaturallySpeaking, Windows Explorer opens up with
the NatSpeak directory highlighted.
Solution:
To correct this problem, go into DragonDictate's Vocabulary Manager
(Voice Menu/Tools/Vocabulary Manager) and click Find. Search for
[Switch to Naturally Speaking] (remember to include the brackets).
When the command is found, highlight it and click Modify.
Edit the line that currently says AppBringUp "NatSpeak" so that you
replace NatSpeak with the complete path name that leads to the
program. The path name should be enclosed in quotes (i.e. it might
read AppBringUp "C:\NatSpeak\Programs\natspeak.exe" for example)
(If you're not sure of the path name you can find it by going
Start/Find/Files or Folders and then searching for natspeak.exe. The
path name will be listed under "In Folder"; you may have to drag this
column larger in order to view the entire path name
There is some evidence that this problem may arise from the
installation of NaturallySpeaking into another directory, such as
"Program Files", but there is at least one case of this situation when
NaturallySpeaking was installed into its default directory on the C:
drive.
