The relatively inexpensive lasers I've seen which do 600 DPI from PCL
(i.e. have PCL 5e) are the HP 5L-bundled-stuff-of-the-day, the Lexmark
Optra E, allegedly a new unit from Brother in the 700 series (no info
except one vendor has them in stock exists; the brother web page has no
reference to them), and maybe some Epson models (haven't looked), and
maybe some Okidata models (but most of their line isn't true 600 dpi).
I'm probably going with the Optra E, since unlike the HP 5L it has a
power switch, and I will need to turn the printer off most of the time
(and want to be able to do so without unplugging it...).
