====== THIS MESSAGE ORIGINATED AT PENS@xxxxxxxxx ====== >1. Is the Parker 25 (the all-stainless UK student model intro'd in 1975) >still in production? I found a UK online catalog for The Office Shop that >sure makes it look so. > >2. Was this model ever offered at retail in the US? I have two of these I was given in Australia, one in '75 (blue section, F) and one in '85 (black section, M). They work nicely - I used the blue (Quink Royal Blue) in rotation with a Sheaffer No-nonsense (Scrip Peacock Blue) through undergrad and grad school. I carried the 25s everywhere for years, and still like to keep them on my desk at work. I still have the matching ball-points, unused in a desk somewhere. A great beginner pen. The blue is a little scratchy now, and the black one was dropped. It landed tip-first, embedded into a wooden floor. The nib got mangled and the tip of the feed broke, so I called Parker in Toronto about 4 weeks ago. (It still writes ok - bit scratchy tho'). They say that these pens are no longer made, and were never offered for sale in North America. However, they were able to order me two replacement sections (both black), one with a med italic nib, and one with a fine nib. I'm waiting for them. cheers, John ===== Swisher Pens - http://www.swisherpens.com - Authorized dealer for Ancora, Aurora, Bexley, Conklin, Conway Stewart, Delta, Faber Castell, Monteverde, Parker, Pelikan, Platinum, Retro 51, Rotring, Sailor, Sheaffer, Stipula, Visconti, Waterford and Waterman Writing Instruments.
